Competition and liberalization, together unleash the entrepreneurial forces in the economy. In an open market economy, some enterprises may undermine the market by resorting to anti-competitive practices for short-term gains. These practices can completely nullify the benefits of competition. The Competition Act, 2002 enacted to cope up with the challenges in the field. .

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Mr. Ankit Srivastava
Mr. Ankit Srivastava, is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Law, at Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur. Before joining DNLU, Jabalpur, he has worked as an Assistant Professor at National Law University, Jodhpur and Amity University, Lucknow and holds a teaching experience of over 4 years. He is also pursuing Ph.D. in the area of Competition Law from NLU Jodhpur. He has completed his Master of Laws (Competition Law) from National Law University, Delhi and Graduation from Symbiosis Law School, Noida.
He is the Director of Centre for Research in Competition Law and Policy at DNLU, Jabalpur. He has always been an active facilitator and coordinator of various committees before this. He was the Coordinator for NLU, Jodhpur with the Competition Commission of India – Competition Network. He was a core member of Centre for Competition Law and Policy at NLU Jodhpur. He has numerous paper publications in reputed journals to his credit and has also presented his papers in different National and International conferences. He has also edited a book titled ‘An Introspection Into Corporate Criminal Liability in India.’ He was a Panellist in a one-day panel discussion on the theme ‘Banking Sector at the Cross-Roads of Disruption: Competition Law Perspective’ organized by NLU Jodhpur. He has also chaired various National Legal events, ADR competitions, Moot Court Competitions, etc. His area of Interest is Competition Law, Corporate Laws, Research Methodology, Law of Torts, and Contract Law.
Ms Rhea Srivastava
Ms Rhea Srivastava is a 2016 Law graduate of Symbiosis Law School, Noida. After having interned extensively in the field of competition law, she decided to specialize in this area of practice and joined the competition law team of AZB & Partners. After having worked at AZB for over two years, she joined the competition team of P&A Law Offices.
In 2019, Rhea went back to school to pursue her Masters in Law from the University of Chicago Law School. While pursuing her LLM degree, she was a Research Assistant to Professor Randal Picker, an eminent antitrust professor. She is to join the antitrust team of Winston & Strawn, New York this year.
