About Common Law Admission Test

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is conducted on rotational basis by 21 National Law Universities (NLU’s) of India. CLAT is a combined test where the candidates can get admissions to these NLU’s for UG and PG Courses. Apart from admissions to NLUs, CLAT scores are also considered as the benchmark by many different private as well as self-financed law colleges in India. Several public organisations, such as BHEL, ONGC use the scores obtained in CLAT-PG for their legal recruitments.

EXAM PATTERN

The exam consists of two section first one is objective and second is subjective essay type questions. The first section will consist of 100 questions of 1 mark for every correct answer and negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer. The second section will consist of 2 descriptive type questions worth 25 marks each. Each Essay should be of at least 800 words. Only the candidates who score 40% in section 1 will be eligible for the correction of section 2.
